A couple weeks ago, a colleague at work invited the pharmacy crew over to her house for an evening of sushi making and socializing. What an awesome party idea!
All roll ingredients were already prepared and the rolling mats were ready. There were 3 sushi making stations and lots of different options: tuna, salmon, cucumber, carrots, avocado, cream cheese (I think), and sauce.
So, up to bat we went. Step one was putting this very sticky, white rice onto the seaweed
Step 2: place ingredients in the middle, fold the paper over, and roll tightly with a bamboo mat. (okay, that was a combination of steps)

Step 3: cut into pieces. And let me tell you, this was harder than it looks. These pieces easily tore and were extremely fragile and crushable. My perfect roll is below. Trina had a bit of a harder time.
Step 4: Enjoy your delicious creation

And for the non-raw fish lovers, there were delicious and very cute alternatives!
Most of us were really awesome at rolling sushi and are now prepared to leave the field of pharmacy for an entirely different challenge. Working at a sushi bar. We can do it all. Well, sort of. As long as it is a very slow restaurant. We were not fast at this. Lisa, you have broadened my skill set. She did such an amazing job providing instructions; however, to this non-rule following group, she might have been one roll away from pulling her hair out. Let's just say that if we were residents on her rotation, we would have had to repeat the month.
