Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas Eve when all through the house

The whole family was scurrying, leaving only the punch.  

Onto the bus they boarded and headed off for fun,

In hopes to see Christmas lights and return in safe care.

Glow lights lay atop many heads and necklaces so bright,

Noses were pressed to the glass to glance at the lights 

Feet pattered the ground towards the trains at Crown Center.

Country road took them all the way back home for dinner.

On Christmas Eve, the shoppers headed out for more treasures

Babysitters maybe went to drastic measures

The Chiefs played a cold football game,

And plenty of snacks, drinks and games were had at the house.

Later that evening, more delicious food was prepared,

And quickly eaten to start the Christmas gift show.

Lexie was the star, opening one after another,

And a fire-causing candle accident was spared.

More shuffleboard and pool matches were held,

And pie was eaten upstairs.

Bedtime was early for HoHo to come.

Dogs were fast asleep after too much fun.

On Christmas morning, Lexie woke to find

A big HoHo visit by the fireplace.

The travelers packed their bags and loaded the cars.

They waved and said Merry Christmas, see you next year!
